ReStore celebrates first year on South Street on January 30

On January 30, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County's ReStore in Freehold will celebrate it's one year anniversary on South St. The ReStore, Habitat for Humanity's social enterprise, collects donated new and gently used furniture and building materials and re-sells the merchandise at deeply discounted prices to support Habitat for Humanity. All proceeds from the ReStore's operations are invested back into affordable housing programs throughout the Monmouth County service area.

owc_ecard_7.jpgIn addition to celebrating the one-year anniversary with refreshments and prizes, the ReStore is collecting clean, new or gently used coats as part of a partnership with One Warm Coat. Now through January 30, the store on South Street in Freehold will serve as a drop off point. Coats will be distributed by the Community Refuge Church of Christ in Manalapan, patrons who donate a coat will receive a 10% discount on their purchase during their visit to the store located at 45 South Street in Freehold.
"We are celebrating one year at our new spacious location, but more than 12 years of operations in Freehold. We are grateful for all the support we have received from donors and staff to volunteers. We hope our larger location continues to attract patrons from across the county, we get unique and fascinating items daily!" said Ray Gabler, executive director, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County. "We know we are not always going to be a one-stop shop for home improvement needs, however, we think we should be your first stop! It's truly amazing to see some of the things that come through the store," he added.
The Freehold ReStore is part of a nationwide network of over 750 stores that collectively earns over $77 million dollars to support the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity throughout the United States. Since 2013, Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County has had an integral role in the rebuilding of Northeast Monmouth County in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, it has also committed to building traditional affordable Habitat homes throughout the service area. It has recently completed or committed to projects in Keansburg, Manalapan, Freehold and Long Branch.

The Habitat for Humanity in Monmouth County ReStore is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donations are accepted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ReStore offers free pick up services for large donations, to receive a donation consultation and schedule a pick up call 732-577-8160 or email
